How to use the economic calendar
See the releases that move markets, in your own time zone, and get warned before them.
What the calendar covers and how it fits your journal is on the economic calendar page; this guide shows how to use it.
Find events
Filter by impact (high, medium, low), currencies, Upcoming only or search. Switch between day and week view.
Calendar settings
Click the gear icon to set:
- Timezone — automatic, or a market city such as New York, London or Tokyo.
- No-trade window — events within ±3 to 30 minutes are flagged.
- Event alerts — in-app warnings for high, medium or low impact events, 2 to 30 minutes ahead. These appear while Fips is open.
The bell on an event row flags just that event.
Alerts that reach your devices
The Event alerts panel (bell icon) creates alerts that are sent as notifications:
- Choose the impact levels and currencies.
- Pick how early to be warned — 5 minutes to 2 hours.
- Add keywords like NFP or CPI if you only want certain releases.
Alerts are checked every 5 minutes, so a reminder can arrive up to 5 minutes after the time you picked. You need to be signed in.
