Most prop firm challenges cap the daily loss at 3–5% and the maximum loss at 6–10% of the starting balance, with a profit target of 8–10% in phase 1 and 4–6% in phase 2. Futures firms such as Topstep and Apex use fixed dollar amounts and a drawdown that trails your end-of-day balance.

Futures firms quote dollar amounts per account size; when sorting, they are compared as a share of the 50K account. Multi-phase targets are sorted by their total. Rows without a limit, or with an unverified value, always sort last.
How to read the table
- Static max loss
- The floor is fixed at a percentage of the initial balance. Profit you make adds to your room.
- Trailing max loss
- The floor rises with each new balance or equity high, so profit does not add room. Many firms stop trailing once the floor reaches the starting balance.
- End-of-day trailing
- The floor only moves up based on your closing balance, not on open profit during the day.
- Pause instead of fail

How to size your lots under these rules
The daily loss limit, not the profit target, decides how big your trades can be. Divide the daily limit by the number of full losses you want to survive in one day: with a 5% daily limit and 1% risk per trade, you can take four losses and still trade; the fifth hits the limit.
Trailing and end-of-day trailing drawdowns shrink your room after every new high until they lock, so size from the distance to the current floor, not from the starting balance. On futures, turn the dollar drawdown into ticks or points per contract before you pick a contract count.

Apex 4.0 replaced the legacy lineup. Evaluations now come in $25K–$150K with an end-of-day or intraday trailing drawdown, and the payout consistency rule on funded accounts is 50% (it was 30%).

The Trading Combine consistency target is now a hard line: your best day must be 55% or less of the profit target. It used to be 50% with a small buffer.

The 1 Step Standard target dropped from 10% to 9%, and the 2 Step Standard now needs 3 profitable days instead of 5.
- Goat Funded Trader · June–August 2026
The 2-Step Pro stopped selling on 13 June. The 1-Step was relaunched on 2 August with a 3% daily loss (4% before) for accounts bought from 1 August, and the 3-Step was retired on 12 August.
- Funding Pips · July–August 2026
The 10% Phase-1 target was retired on 24 July. Accounts bought from 15 August can pick a monthly payout cycle at 100%, and from 26 August the 2 Step Pro needs 2 trading days per phase instead of 1.
- FTMO · 1-Step Challenge
The new 1-Step Challenge sits next to the 2-Step: 10% target, 3% daily loss, 10% end-of-day trailing max loss, a 50% Best Day Rule and a 90% split.
- The5ers · Pro Growth and High Stakes
Pro Growth is a new 1-Step where hitting the 3% daily limit fails the account, unlike the daily pause in Hyper Growth. High Stakes defaults to a "New" variant with 10% / 5% targets; Classic stays at 8% / 5%.

Stellar 1-Step accounts bought from this date start at an 80% profit split, rising to 95%.
Why True Forex Funds is not in the table
True Forex Funds closed for good in May 2024, citing financial insolvency, after MetaQuotes ended its MT4/MT5 licences in February 2024. Its last published Two Phase rules (8% / 5% targets, 5% daily loss, 10% static max loss) remain only as a historical record.
Frequently asked questions
Among the evaluations in the table with a fixed limit, 5% is the highest: FTMO 2-Step, FundedNext Stellar 2-Step, Funding Pips 2 Step Standard, Goat Funded Trader 2-Step Standard and The5ers High Stakes on $2.5K–$25K accounts. E8 One can be configured up to 9.2%, and FXIFY Instant Funding allows 8% without an evaluation. Apex's intraday evaluation and The5ers Bootcamp have no daily limit during the evaluation, and FundedNext Stellar Instant has none at all, but their maximum loss still applies.
